The EPFC Filmmobile is a mobile film and video classroom sponsored by the Echo Park Film Center (EPFC), a non-profit media arts organization located in Los Angeles.
In the past five years, we've talked to people all over the country who wanted to make films but didn't know how and didn't have anybody to teach them. We thought, "If people can't come to the film center, maybe we can take our film center to them."
In November 2007, we bought an old blue schoolbus. Then we worked with sustainable energy and design experts in transforming the bus into an eco-friendly, film center on wheels.
Now it’s time to hit the road! This summer, the Filmmobile makes its inaugural voyage up the west coast from Los Angeles all the way to Vancouver, Canada. We’ll be screening films on the theme of "Change, Hope & Magic" and will be facilitating workshops (Super 8 filmmaking, digital editing and direct animation). All programs are free and everyone is welcome to participate.
Join the rambling cinematic revolution! Send us your films, host a screening, take a workshop, spread the word… Fiscal and material donations are gratefully accepted and tax-deductible too.
Help Children Thrive
We offer FREE filmmaking classes and workshops to everyone under 18 years of age.
Support Creativity
We aim to show people of all ages how to express themselves through film.
